Inspired by a Roy DeForest painting. After I began working on this piece my beloved 8 year old granddaughter was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. I found stitching this piece helped keep me sane during that difficult period.

The Musketeers were created with up cycled linen given to me when a local bedding company was going out of business. The images took form spontaneously as I was doodling. Where these animal designs came from in my head...I do not know however, I had so much fun creating each of them as each took on a life of its own. I collaged the cut out up cycled linen and when the "animal"was complete, I hand embroidered each one.
